Keeping children safe and well
We are a Sun Safe Nursery
Evergreen Forest Nursery has completed the Sun Safe Nurseries Accreditation by implementing a Sun Safety Policy that outlines our commitment to:
- Protection: providing an environment that enables children and staff to stay safe in the sun.
- Education: learning about sun safety to increase knowledge and influence behaviour.
- Collaboration: working with parents, the management structure and the wider community to reinforce awareness about sun safety.
We have committed to renew our Sun Safe Accreditation annually to ensure best practice is maintained. Our certificate was issued on 13 October 2026 and expires on 13 October 2027.

How Parents and Staff Can Raise Safeguarding Concerns
At Evergreen Forest Nursery, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment where children are protected, listened to and cared for.
Staff Raising Safeguarding Concerns
All staff are expected to follow the nursery’s safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures. Any concerns about a child’s welfare or safety must be reported promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy DSL. Staff will follow the appropriate local authority safeguarding procedures and work with relevant professionals where necessary to ensure children receive the support and protection they need.
Parents Raising Safeguarding Concerns
Parents and carers are encouraged to speak to the DSL or nursery management if they have any safeguarding concerns or questions about their child’s welfare. We are committed to listening to concerns, taking them seriously and responding appropriately.
If a parent or carer wishes to raise a formal complaint, they may follow the nursery’s complaints procedure. They can also contact Lancashire County Council or Ofsted, where appropriate, to raise concerns or make a complaint.
At Evergreen Forest Nursery, we value open communication and partnership with families. We believe that working together helps ensure every child feels safe, secure and supported.
